We made it back safe and sound from North Carolina. We had a wonderful time. Everyone was so sad on Friday because it was time to get ready to go home. I told everyone that that is good because it means we had a lot of fun!

We spent our days at the beach. My cousins Tony and Rachel and I attempted to put up this HUGE tent that my dad usually puts up. Someone lost the directions so we were on our own with the million pieces that it has. I have a college degree and Tony is an engineer with a college degree and we had a lot of trouble figuring that dumb thing out. I think we worked on that thing for like two hours in the scalding hot sand! Then Uncle Frank came down and gave us a hand and we managed to get it up.

Cory, my dad, Matt and Isaiah went golfing two days. Isaiah was completely estatic that he got to go golfing with the big guys. I hear he even did pretty good.

We took the kids to the North Carolina Aquarium. It was neat. We saw sharks bigger than me. They had a whole tank of river fish. Cory knows the names of all the fish. That was impressive because they all look the same to me.

We stayed in South Nags Head. Everything down there is either a peninsula or an island so we had to travel across many many bridges to get to where we were going. The bridge in Minneapolis was given a rating of 4 out of a possible 10. Two of the bridges that I drove over were given ratings of a 2 out of 10! I really thank God for his traveling mercies over all those bridges and highways. At one point our bridge actually tunneled down under the water. That one always makes me a little bit nervous.

This year we stayed about 40 miles further south than we usually do. It turned out to be so nice down there. And we were only about 10 miles away from the hospital, which also turned out to be a good thing. Uncle Frank had to visit the emergency room in the middle of the night for a kidney stone. He was okay after they drugged him up.

Our house was very nice. It had seven bedrooms, a pool and a hot tub. Next year I think I don't want a pool because my kids wanted to be in the pool all the time. I am a beach bum. I like to go to the beach around 9 in the morning and stay until lunch time. Then I like to go back to the beach until 5 pm or so. But all my kids wanted to do was go to the house to swim. The one good thing about the pool is that Jermiah learned how to swim this week, which is what I was hoping. Corynne even got really brave because by the last day she was jumping in the deep, with her swimmies, but she held her nose and went under the water. Jordan and his two football player friends came with us. The three of them sat in the hot tub. Water literally POURED out of the hot tub because they are big boys. I will post that picture soon.

Cory and I drove home Friday night. We left around 10 pm and pulled into our driveway at 7 am. We were so tired. We kept switching driving to keep awake. I can't drink too much coffee or I will have to stop and go to the bathroom. So I ate m&m's and lifesavers to stay awake. The kids slept the whole way, which was what we were hoping for. It only took us 9 hours. My mom and the rest of the family left Saturday morning and because of traffic, it took them over 15 hours to get home. But we all made it home safely and for that I am thankful.

All of our pictures are on my mom's camera so as soon as I can I will download some picture of our vacation. My kids are so brown. Isaiah is so dark that he doesn't even look like my child anymore!
