Jeremiah learned how to ride his bike tonight!!!
I am so proud of him! He came home the other day all dejected because he is the "only" one in his whole second grade class that cannot ride a two wheeler. (You think?! I mean you are 8 years old!) Mind you, I've been trying to teach him for over a year now. But he just had it made up in his little mind that he couldn't do it. After school today, I told him that since the weather was fairly nice we were going to Gram and Bup's and learning how to ride his bike. He was quite upset with me. I asked him what he was the most afraid of. He told me that he was most afraid that he would not be able to do it. How about that?!
We went to Bup's house. I had a long talk with Jeremiah and I repeatedly told him that he could indeed ride his bike. I told him that it was a lot like when he learned how to swim. I even prayed with him. Then I held onto Jeremiah's bike seat and walked behind him for about an hour or so. Pretty soon, Bup came out to help us. Would you believe that I went inside my friend Mary's house for literally like five minutes, came back outside and guess what that little stinker was doing?! He was riding his bike! All by himself! All fast down the street. Bup stood by proudly grinning at us! Evidently Bup taught him a couple of things that I must not have and Jeremiah learned! I am so excited that he can finally ride his bike that I don't mind giving the credit to Bup. Thanks for helping Bup!
We do have a video of Jeremiah riding but I don't know if I am computer literate enough to download it to my blog. I will work on it though.
Great Day!
