Lincoln's statue....I told the kids he might bite them...lol
Corynne was really tired from all the walking. The kids in the subway station.

Guess we are flashing the peace sign....

That is the White House in the back ground.

The kids and I are standing beside the Washington Monument. We barely measure three blocks.
First few days of vacation:
We went to Washington DC to try and bring a little bit of education to our vacation. Yesterday we visited the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, Reflecting pool, The Wall, and the White House. We were so thankful for the nice weather while we walked all of those places. We rode the Metro-the under ground subway system to get from our hotel into DC. I love the Metro. I have ridden it several other times when we visited down there. It is the best way to travel when you are there. Corynne and the boys loved it too~

Today we did the inside stuff: Smithsonian Museums. It worked out really well because the weather was much hotter today so the air conditioning was much appreciated. I will post day 2 pictures soon.

We are not in Newport News, Virginia visiting Cory's family. It is very nice down here.
