We had such a good time this weekend. I totally recommend The Great Wolf Lodge to everyone for a little family getaway weekend. I only wish I would have known about this place years ago when Jordan was younger because he would have loved it too!
These are just pictures I found online. We didn't take our cameras into the water park because it was really warm and humid in there. The kids had so much fun. The best line of the weekend was when Isaiah said, "I can't believe how much fun we are having!"

I was a brave mama this weekend and rode every single waterslide there! I even rode the really really high up ones you ride with a raft. It was so much fun!

We took the kids to Splash Lagoon in Lake Erie last year, but I liked Great Wolf much better. Splash Lagoon had more water slides, but everything is cramped into a really small space. Great Wolf has everything spread out much better so that you don't feel like there are too many people. We went up on Friday and got into the park by noon. It was so nice because there was nobody there. You didn't have to wait in line for anything at all. It got a little bit busier on Saturday, but it still wasn't too bad.

I only had to yell at one group of boys. (lol) You can take the teacher out of the classroom, but you can't take the teacher out of me! We were in the hot tub...the one place in the whole park that is not life guard attended...there were five boys doing cannon balls into the hot tub--clearly against the rules---and they were splashing this old man and his daughter or granddaughter (not sure) right in the face. So my man didn't say one word, even after getting splashed like six times. So I went into full BF teacher mode and was like, "hey, hey, hey, hey...nope...uh ugh...nope, stop jumping in...you are not allowed to jump...nope...don't do it again..nope...uh ugh! ." They listened though, probably thought I was crazy!

The lifeguards there are awesome. They are all petty young, but really good at their jobs. They take it very seriously and really keep the kids under control. Although, if parents just watched their own kids in the water park, the lifeguards wouldn't have to work so hard.

All in all, it was a really fun weekend. Life is getting so much easier now that all our kids are over the age of 6. I looked around at all the toddlers and babies and stressed out parents. It wasn't too long ago that I was there. Time just flies.

I'll post some pictures of my kids at the second hotel we stayed at this weekend soon. The one picture above is of the huge bucket that fills up and dumps out every 10 minutes or so. People run to stand under it when they hear the warning bell. It is pretty neat. The other picture is of our room. Isn't that fire place awesome?! I paid $20 extra bucks to get a fireplace room. I turned it on and we went out to supper. We came back and our room was literally hotter than a sauna. We couldn't even breathe. So needless to say, Cory wouldn't let me turn it on anymore.
The other picture is of one of the pools. You know Mr. Isaiah spent the majority of time at those basketball hoops.

The best part of the water park is that all the water is really really warm. I never got cold once. Corynne gets cold pretty quick though, so when she did, we just sat in the hot tub until she warmed up. I was really cold when we went to Splash Lagoon, so this was nice to be so warm.

After we got home, I read all the handouts that Great Wolf gives you. There was a whole brochure on water illnesses...I forget the name of it...probably because my brain does not want to remember it. Basically it states that if someone has diarhea and enters the water, some of the fecal material can get in the water. Chlorine kills it, but it takes a few days. You can get sick if you swallow some water, or if it gets in your mouth. I was totally disgusted after reading that and I am really glad I read it after we are home! That is just something else I will add to my prayer list!

All in all...great weekend with my great family. I am really blessed with wonderful kids and great husband!

Honey I really love you but you can't recommend a water park in one sentence and inform everyone about the diareha issue in another. your recommendation has just been voided. Sorry. maybe you should post that on the internet as a warning and then we could have the whole park to ourselves.
I'm so glad everyone had so much fun. I kind of agree about the diahrrea thing. I've gotten kind of snobby about pools since I was lucky enough to grow up with one in my back yard. I really try not to go into public pools because of things just like that.
Someone at work was teasing me because I said that I carry Lysol in my diaper bag and spray down the drop down changing table in public. Those things are nasty. I said I don't care how silly they think it is, I'm not laying my baby down in some other kid's sh**!
Jessie, you are such a good mom...glad you all had a great time...I would like to go to Great Wolf myself. That diarrhea thing is nasty....staying away from public pools.
I have an unpopular theory.
My very unscientific research from 11 years of teaching has shown that the kids with the most negligent parents who come from the dirtiest places and come to school filthy are NEVER sick. On the other hand, the clean kids who have been trained by germaphobic parents to disinfect their desks with a Clorox wipe every ten minutes are ALWAYS sick.
Soooo, I'm thinking that germ exposure (including swimming in sh**) is actually good for their immune systems.
When other parents cringe and look at me with disgust because my daughter is licking the hand-print covered window to the lion exhibit at the zoo, I really want to share my theory.
The kids who eat the most germs are the healthiest. My grimy little toddler has had a few runny noses but she's never needed an antibiotic. So in my twisted head, my logic stands. I'm not going to send her to school dirty and I'll take reasonable precautions to keep her safe, but you get my point.
Let your children swim in diarrhea. It's good for them.
Maybe Lily has stayed healthy because I let her swim in a pool at a resort in Mexico when she was 6 months old.
Glad you guys had fun! I've heard a lot of people say how much they like Great Wolf Lodge.
jamie, you are hilarious. but i will give some credit to your theory because my dirty kids at school are never absent because they never get sick. you may just have something with that theory. lol. i am cracking up about lily licking that thing.
My baby is never swimming in diahrrea, and I will continue to Clorox and wipe and wash!! There may be something to the dirty kid theory, but I'm still sticking to my germaphobe ways. :)
MY SISTER IN LAW AND HER FAMILY DID GET THAT DISEASE! THEY WERE ACTUALLY TESTED FOR IT WHEN THE DR. HEARD THAT THEY WERE AT ONE OF THOSE TWO INDOOR WATER PARKS THAT YOU MENTIONED LAST YEAR. THEY EVENTUALLY GOT BETTER BUT THE HOTEL WAS NOTIFIED AND IT ENDED UP BEING A PRETTY BIG ORDEAL ALL THE WAY AROUND. I ALSO LIKE JAMIE'S THEORY!!!
Mary, tell the truth, we all know that your sister-in-law got sick from your cooking.
Let me tell all of you a story about Cory that is similar to the diarrhea story. One day he was at work when.....oh,nevermind, there are some young readers here!
