Just some random updates from the Hauser's

We've been good....just very very busy...as usual.

Here are some Hauser Updates:

Jordan: Jordan is back at W&J. His room is very nice this year. Some how he ended up in the R.A. (Resident Assistant) suite. He shares the suite with two other boys, but he has his own bedroom. It is so nice. And it is so much better than the dreaded dorms he stayed at the last two years. He has air conditioning, a living room, huge bathroom and a decent size bedroom. The entire building is fairly new, so it is really nice. I am so happy he is living in a nice place this year. I used to get so sad every time I took him back to school. He is funny. He is a junior this year, but he still wants his mommy to make his bed up for him. lol. (And I happily do it!)

Isaiah: Isaiah got an expander for his mouth. He is getting more used to talking with it. He is doing a very good job being responsible with it. He turns it and the turn days and he cleans it daily. So far this grading period, he has straight A's. Football will be over soon and his favorite sport...basketball...will start. He is getting so tall. He's passed Grammie up. lol

Jeremiah: Jeremiah is also doing well in school. He is not sure yet if he likes his teacher or not. She's all about the rules, so I thought she and Jeremiah would get along fine. But I think she is a little bit rougher than the other teachers he has had in the past. He only has one more week of football left. I will have to find something else for him to do. They didn't have a game this week, so they didn't practice too much. It was very evident that Jeremiah needs something to make him tired! lol.

Corynne: Corynne is playing soccer and loving it. I don't mind soccer. Practices and games never last longer than one hour. She plays in Blackhawk, so for the most part the families are nice and calm. I don't know if that is a Blackhawk thing or a soccer thing. But it is like a breath of fresh air compared to the season we have had this year in football. Some of our parents here in Rochy have gone straight nuts! But that is another story. Corynne is loving school. She is doing well. Her teacher is the old Gifted teachers so I know her well from Jordan and Isaiah. I have her cell number and she doesn't mind if I text her! (not sure if this is a mistake or not) I text her frequently and check on Corynne. lol

Cory: Cory is taking a class at Geneva on Thursday nights. He has begun the Counseling Program at Geneva. He is doing very well. So far he has aced all of his quizzes. He is surprising himself. I am not surprised though. Cory is very intelligent and he is working very hard at his school work. He is going to make a wonderful conselor someday!

Me: I've been teaching and being mommy! That takes up all of my time. My classroom is very interesting this year. I have a whole group of kids this year that fit into the "thug" category. I will leave you with a funny story about one of my darling thugs.

This is the conversation I had with little K the other day. Let me start off by telling you that I really like Little K. He is in my learning support class, although he is not learning support. This means that Little K is the only students who understands anything I am talking about, can actually orally read, and puts his hand up with a reasonable answer when I ask questions.

Let me also tell you that we are currently doing our annual candy bar sale as a school fundraiser. Candy bars sell for $1.00 and this is our main fundraiser for the year. This pays for all of our field trips and any of our rewards for the students.

So here is my conversation with K:

K: Hey Miss Hauser, I am going to sell my candy bars for $2.00 instead of $1,00.

Me: K, why would you do that?

K: Well, I will pay the school and keep the other money for myself.

Me: K, you can't do that. That is basically stealing. It is dishonest to do that. You have to sell them for only one dollar.

After pondering what I said for a few minutes, K says: But Miss Hauser, I'll cut you in!

Gotta love my job!
