Strep Throat--Yuck

Well it has been about 5 days since I last blogged. That is because I somehow caught strep throat and I got super super sick. I haven't felt this bad since the time I got mono when I was in highschool. I didn't even get out of bed on Tuesday or Wednesday. It was so terrible. I even called the doctor back to make sure she gave me the right antibiotic because it didn't seem like it was working. Well my fever is gone, which is good, but my throat still hurts. And according to Cory, my throat is really ugly looking. (I made him look at it with a flashlight) I will spare you the details though. I had to use 4 sick days this week. That drives me nuts since I don't have that many to begin with. Now I am going to have to go to every inservice day for the rest of this school year.

Cory has been the best all week. He had his seven days off this week and all he did was take care of me and the kids. He did an excellent job too. He made me chicken soup broth and jello. He kept the kids busy so I could rest. He even took a nap with me every day while the kids were sleeping. (I'm not sure if that was so I wouldn't be lonely or if he really needed some rest from taking care of the kids!)
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband!

I am so thankful to be feeling a little bit better. I run around all the time--working, taking care of the kids, taking care of the house and all the other stuff I do. Then you get so sick that you can't do any of that and it really makes you thankful for the times you are healthy.

Glad you feel a little better! At least you won't feel terrible over the weekend. Better to be sick on a work day than a weekend.

And Cory is making me look bad. Kirk has been sick all week. I'm not good with sick people. I just keep asking him if he wants me to get the shovel and put him out of his misery. Maybe I should take lessons from Cory.

I was wondering where you have been. I've missed you!!! Glad you are feeling better. We all need some time for rest once in awhile. You do have a good husband..don't tell him I said that though. I give Art 24 hours when he is sick, then it is ok, get up, shower, and brush those furry teeth. He tries to milk it. When he had his last cold, he was sure that he was terminally ill.

It is true that we very often forget how lucky we are to be healthy and able to do everyday things...getting sick will put you back in your place! I hope you feel better! Relax and get some rest :-)

Good job Cory, (I always knew he was a good guy)
