I am officially done with work until Jan. 3!! That is 12 days off!! I'm very happy.
Today was an easy day. Our kids watched Ice Age II, ate lunch and had two classes. I only had to teach one Reading class today. We read The Polar Express and discussed how it was different than the movie. We then had a luncheon at the High School--it was nice and I got home an hour earlier than I usually do. Jeremiah tells time by the shows that come on the Cartoon Network. I came home and he said, "What are you doing home? Pokemon isn't even on yet."
I finished my shopping last night with some other crazy people who hadn't finished their shopping yet. So whatever I forgot to buy will just have to be forgotten because I refuse to go to another store until well after Christmas day.
I got some interesting gifts from my students as always. I got....
a pearl bracelet from one of my boys--(look out Cory), packaged boxed candy( I may eat some of that), some home-made candy (which I will not eat), some bath and body stuff (which I will probably re-gift), a couple cute teacher knick-knack items, a pin that says "I love teaching" (my friend got one with huge flower pots that said, "I help young minds to grow"), a few coffee mugs (good gifts), and my favorite--a porcelain horse head. I also got a christmas card that was signed, "Your Best Friend". Last time I checked my best friend wasn't 11! Thye kids are too cute. I usually open my stuff immediately and write out thank you cards while they are watching the movie. I don't know if that is proper etiquette or not, nor do I care. I just feel better if all my school stuff is done before I leave there.
So my kids helped me clean the house tonight. Seems Jeremiah and Corynne dumped glitter all over their playroom. I was wondering why I kept seeing a little glitter here and a little glitter there all over my house, well tonight I figured out the mystery. I was a little bit irritated because that is just ridiculous. But they helped me clean everything up. I'm hoping to take it easy tomorrow and relax--I'm exhausted.

I love it that Jeremiah tells time by TV shows. Joe and I measured time in Mister Rogers and Sesame Streets. It took two Sesame Streets to get to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Once you get to Alliance it's only one Mister Rogers.
I don't eat homemade food gifts either (but I do appreciate the thoughtfulness). I put them in a plastic grocery bag and toss them in the dumpster after the busses leave.
It's good that neither of you take a chance with the homemade stuff. No telling what the cute little toadies might be trying to do to you. I'm just a Dad reciprocating my daughter's warning about the hookers.
