I realize that choosing a head coach for the Steelers is a difficult task. I know that Pittsburgh fans are very serious when it comes to the Steeler Football. I know that some die hard fans actually even bleed black and gold. And I also know that many people in Pittsburgh are extremly concerned and interested in the details of finding a new coach. But....seriously there must be no murders, fires, robberies, traffic accidents or D.U.I's in Pittsburgh these days because the only thing on the news is "Coach Watch". I watch Channel 11 news in the morning when I get ready for work. I usually watch it for about a half an hour or so. They have so much on the news, even in that short 1/2 hour, about the head coaching position. I can tell you all the candidates, where they are from, what race they are, what their coching experience is, what their records in coaching were, and possibly what they said that their interview AND I could really CARE LESS! That's a bit of a shame. I tried turning the channel, but the other news channels are showing the same thing also. Maybe Pittsburgers should get a life!
The other big news around here is the Penguins. Every day a new city wants our Penguins. Every day Mario Lemiuex is negotiating with our city and other cities of the fate of the Penguins. Once again, is this top news worthy? To some, I guess it is. To me--I just want to know when it is going to snow hard enough that I can make a snowman with my kids!
It snowed last night and it was BEAUTIFUL! I love the snow. I love it on the cars. I love it on the ground. I love it on the grass. I love the smell of it. I love the quiet of it. (No cars rolling down my street) And I especially love two hour delays and cancellations!

Ohio news is the same way. A half hour news program has 20 minutes of sports, five minutes of weather, and five minutes about everything that is going on in the rest of the world.
Sounds like, "OSU coach Jim Tressel ate ham and eggs for breakfast today and QB Troy Smith bought a new pair of shoes. Will Troy be drafted? Should the Browns fire Crennel? The Cavs will wear their throw-back jerseys next week. LeBron has a new commercial...oh, and by the way, it will be cloudy tomorrow and President Ford died."
Are people from Pittsburgh really called Pittsburgers? That's awesome. burgers. hehe.
You missed one Jamie. Some people call us Pittsboogers. That's still better than being an Ohesian I think.
I agree with you and Jessie about the sports mania. I was interested in sports when you kids were just born but never that interested. And when you get older and realize that its all just a big business you get even less interested. It is really depressing to see fully grown adults living and dying on their sports teams when they don't know who their representatives are and don't care about what's going on in the world.
