The party is over. I surived. It turned out really nice. It kept looking like it was going to rain, but we just walked around the yard and prayed. The rain stayed away all day. A huge storm rolled in around 8, but most of the people were gone and the ones still there stayed and helped us clean up. That was so nice. I had so much food left over. I did pray that I would rather have food left over than run out! My kids will be eating rigatoni all week and hotdogs all summer! If anyone wants some rigatoni, please let me know! You are more than welcome to come and get some! I am sad that all the cookies and brownies are gone though. Mary made the best brownies ever and Nunny made the best buckeyes ever! Those were all gone though.

I figured that I ended up with a little over 150 people throughout the day. It was so nice seeing people that we don't get to see often. There were lots of little babies there--Taylor, Lily and Isaac--It was so nice to see them. Corynne ran around in her bathing suit all day. She wanted to do water guns--which we never got to--but she was ready just in case. At one point, I started to fuss at her and tell her to put her clothes back on, but then I thought that is really something I didn't want to get into right then. She wasn't hurting anyone and she was happy. So I let her go.

I will use this blog to un-officially thank a lot of people who helped make this day successful. I will send out thank you cards soon, but this will do for now.

Grammie and Bup: Thanks so much for letting us use your home for the party. Everything was beautiful--all the yard work paid off. Thanks for the tent and chairs and tables, pasta salad, jello salads and all the other stuff you did. I would have never pulled this off it it weren't for all of your help. You two are so special to me. Thanks so much.

Cory: for running around and getting all the odds and ends and cooking hot dogs and hamburgers all day, making endelss ice trips, stocking all the coolers, restocking food, helping me plan, giving me ideas, helping me at Sams to buy all that stuff, helping me understand what al dente means so i didn't mess up the pasta salad and most importantly for not divorcing me while I planned this party.

Josh: for all your help--i can't even begin to explain how much work Joshua did for this party--he did yard work leading up to the party, he decorated, he moved tables, he carried things, he stocked food, he carried cake around to serve people, he put up badmitton and volleyball nets, he basically did anything I needed him to do. And Joshua is wonderful because he doesn't roll his eyes at me or fuss at me or get irritated at me (as others do) he just tells me that I am the boss and whatever I need he does. I just love him!

Mary: for making the best brownies and brocolli slaw! and for staying and cleaning up even though she was dead tired. and for letting us use her roaster and being there to help out wherever help was needed, also for opening her home up to the Doerschner's.

Grandma Hauser: for making those slamming beans... more people commented on those beans than any other food. thanks so much. you don't even know how that helped me out immensely not having to make the beans, thanks also for all your cooking and food advice

Kristen: for taking Jordan clothes shopping so that he looked presentable for his party, for picking up the chicken, for getting other odds and ends and for taking Jeremiah to his game. Thanks so much!

Matt: for cutting grass--saved me some time on Friday--and for taking Jeremiah to his game

Stefanie: for helping me cook 16 lbs of rigatoni and 8 lbs of pasta salad, for cutting up tons of olives and cucumbers--thanks so so so much

Nunny: for making buckeyes and helping out with everything

Rachel: for all your help decorating and making the place look so nice

Bup: for taking Isaiah to his game, getting his yard ready for the party, and putting up with me and Gram

My babies: for understanding why I couldn't take them swimming or play games with them at night because I was so busy with party preparations

For everyone who came and hung out with us and made his day so special!

I too want to thank everyone for everything that you did. i will not say that we could not have done it with out because we could have. anyway, i am not like my wife, this is an official thank you from me. you will not be getting a thank you card, i will not be helping you at your function so please do not ask. and i need to know how come i was not listed as the first thank you. do you all know that i was supposed to play in two golf outings on saturday and was not allowed to go because soooo much work was to be done. but Jess "my wife" went to get her nails done. did you know that. ask me when you see me and i will give you a better story. and if you gave less than $100, please send the rest of the money because the college bill has to be paid in August. God Bless You All.

Cory is too funny!! I was happy to help out. I had fun picking out clothes for Jordan and watching Jeremiah play ball. I have never had chicken from Harold's before, but it was really good.

And I thank you for the leftovers. It meant I didn't have to cook dinner last night! :)

Cory,

The picture posters and scrapbooks you made were awesome. I can tell you put a lot of time into them. You also did a fantastic job cooking the rigatoni and pasta salad. YOu would think, after all that work, that Jess would have at least done the coolers instead of getting her nails done. Then you could have taken a break from all the party preperations to play golf.

I can't send the rest of the money right now but if you need me to sit outside the mall with you and panhandle I will. Maybe we'll make more money if one of us plays the saxophone while the other one dances. Or maybe we can get some makeup and tell people we'll paint their face for a fee. That could be fun.

Hilarious Jamie--as usual. Thanks for supporting me! He's something else, isn't he?? All that work I did and he is going to fuss because I was gone for 45 minutes to get my nails done. And it was more about taking Nunny to get a manicure. But whatever.

Have you ever gone down the strip in Pittsburgh? It has a bunch of stores and food. But I have thought a few times about putting my kids on a corner with a hat for some money. Isaiah could play his trumpet, Jeremiah could sing and Corynne could just collect money. I think we'd make a killing.
