I made it through my first week of school and I am so thankful for the three day weekend.
Isaiah played at Riverside today. We won 49-0. Isaiah did good--he had a really good tackle. He was supposed to run the ball on this one play but this other boy took the ball and scored the touchdown. Isaiah was very mad about that. I guess the coach wasn't happy either because the boys didn't run the play correctly. It seems that Mr. Isaiah wants a touchdown every game now. Pop Hauser and Grammie Doerschner came to watch Isaiah play and he is very thankful that they came to his game.
I am so sad about Hurricane Gustav. I feel so bad for everyone in its path. Jamaica got slammed and Cuba is getting slammed now. It is supposed to hit the gulf again Monday morning. I am just praying that it is not as bad as Katrina. Can you believe that they had to evacuate people in Gulfport Miss from FEMA trailers because the trailers wouldn't stand a hurricane--Duhh! I feel bad that those people are still in trailers from a storm that hit 3 years ago! But it seems like people are listening to warnings this time. They have already evacuated the hospitals. We'll just keep hoping and praying that it is not too bad.
Sarah Palin. Of course my dad loves her. :-) I did some reading on her and I think I like her too. I do not like McCain. Was he really the best that the Republican party had to offer? I know nothing about Biden and I am still not sure about Obama. At our in-service on Monday, our union (PSEA) brought in an Obama representative from Atlanta to "urge" us to vote for Obama. That made me a little bit mad. There are so many issues to think about. The education issue IS important, but there are lots of other things to think about also. So I am still not sure who I am voting for? By the way...it is okay to ask someone who they are voting for? I thought that was one of those questions that you just don't ask people--you know like, "how old are you?" or "how much money do you make?". Or "are you Mexican?"

first of all it was 45-0. And I know all of my plays
Jess, I'm about to blog about McCain's vp pick. I don't ever ask people who they are going to vote for. I agree that it's kind of taboo. Plus, I really don't enjoy arguing with people about politics. If someone tells me that they are voting for a certain candidate, I would never lecture them if I disagreed. However, I have found myself lectured many times recently by people who disagree with me. It's annoying.
You will never find out from me who I will be voting for.....I consider the Secret Ballot Sacrosanct....;-)
I have to be honest, I don't think it should be taboo for people to talk about who they are voting for...most people have so many opinions about how the country should be run, and what they think about this or that....if they are going to be talking about those things, what's the big deal about saying who you are voting for? what are people afraid of? are they afraid someone is going to attack them for who they are voting for - I think you should stand behind your decisions, and if you are well thought out enough about who you are voting for and why, then why hide it?
