Just some random updates at the Hauser's:

1. Both Isaiah's and Jeremiah's football teams lost on Sunday. Oh well...it is not that big of a deal. Life will go on. But evidently some other parents do not share my attitude on football. Would you believe there was actually a big fight after Isaiah's game because some of the Rochester parents were mad at our coaches because we lost. (Cory is one of the coaches so this did not sit well with me.) It was so ridiculous. I was very proud of Cory. He acted professionally and respectfully the entire time. Just to share a few facts regarding Isaiah's team so you really can see how ridiculous these parents are: Fact #1: there are only 16 kids on the team--two of which are over the weight limit so they can't play--that means the entire team for the most part plays offense, defense, and special teams. Isaiah is the quarterback, safety, punter, and punt returner. The kids get exhausted as the game goes on, yet these parents are irrate because we lost. Fact #2: the head coach knows nothing about football...but in his defense, if he didn't take the team, then there wouldn't have been a team. Fact #3: as a whole, they kids are scared to hit, scared to block and just not that overally talented. So as a result of the episode on Sunday, the head coach quit. Cory now will have a greater role on the team. The one son of irrate parents quit the team. (oh well) This should be interesting. I guess the coaches are having a parent meeting on Wednesday night. I wish they would let me talk to the parents and give my take on things. I doubt they will let me though. lol!

2. Jordan tipped the pizza delivery man $10 the other night.

3. I cleaned every single kitchen cabinet yesterday and still have no idea why I did that.

4. This is my last week of freedom. Back to the grind on Monday. We are negotiating our contract this year...it was up June 30....and it is getting NASTY!

5. My mom and dad have a ground hog the size of a small dog in their yard. The ground hog is burrowing a hole underneath their air conditioning unit. My mom is very upset. I think my dad was planning on shooting it last I heard. They laid bait out out for it and my mom was on "groundhog duty" waiting to see it come out of its hole so my dad could kill it. How funny! And I am irritated at the dove who keeps having babies in a nest on my porch~!

6. I went to Corynne's kindergarten orientation last night. Would you believe I left my "very important" folder of information on the table there?! Real nice!

7. Jeremiah cannot wait to go back to school!

8. Jordan leaves September 4 for school. He quit football. I am over it now, but I was pretty sad. My overall goal for Jordan is to get his bachelor's degree in something and become a successful contributing member of society. He can do that with or without football, so like I said, I am over it.

9. If you know any college students buying books, go to amazon.com or halfprice books.com to get books. It costs a fraction of the amount you would spend in the campus book store.

10. We are swimming today. I am so excited about swimming...last day probably to swim for this summer.
Sad :-(

Jordan tipped the pizza guy $10!!! He really does not understand the whole concept of tipping. Matt and I usually tip the pizza guy $4 or $5. We've tipped more in cases where the weather was really, really awful and the delivery guy had to take his life in his hands to bring us dinner. Plus, we live farther away from the pizza shops than you guys do.

I just got an idea of what to do for Jordan for a Christmas present ... (I'm writing this with a smirk.)

I saw the groundhog...he is huge.

You should speak to the parents, coaches, etc...you would set them straight!!! They need to realize that this team is not the Pittsburgh Steelers!!!

Calmly invite the irate parents to coach the team. When they provide all of the many excuses why they can't coach, calmly invite them to keep their opinions to themselves at the games because loud verbal criticisms from the stands won't teach their children and are never constructive. And calmly advise them that their suggestions may be accepted by the coaches if delivered in a constructive manner.

I remember Eddie making a speech to parents at the beginning of one of Isaiah's seasons. He said he expected parents "to be well-behaved", "to refrain from smoking at the games" and "to support the team, because this is what we're here for".

Just a suggestion delivered in a constructive manner.

Hey Jess: You must have confused the words "irate" with "irritated". Don't let it happen again. It's a constructive criticism.

that ground hog is gross! i can't wait till they shoot it.

Bup...yes Eddie always has that meeting...it is a good idea. that's why our coaches are doing one tonight. Eddie always wins so typically parents leave him alone. lol

i meant to say irate....i just spelled it wrong...they were very very mad...way past irritated...lol! thanks for the c.c. though
