We had a very busy weekend. Isaiah and Jeremiah both made the baseball allstar teams. This weekend, they each had a tournament. Jeremiah played two games on Saturday in Monaca and Isaiah played two games in Economy. Cory had to work. Jordan went to PSU for the weekend so I was pretty much on my own. Of course, they both had their first games at 9am! I asked one of the other moms to give Jeremiah a ride to Monaca. I drove to Economy and dropped Isaiah off. Then I went to Brady's Run and took Rice and Mushrooms to my friend's graduation party. Then I drove back to Economy to watch Isaiah's game. But because of all the rain the night before, Isaiah's game was delayed indefinitely until the fields were dried. So I left and then I went to Monaca to watch Jeremiah's game. After this game, we went back to Economy for Isaiah's game. Then we went home for a quick hour to get some lunch and get out of the sun. We then drove back to Economy for Isaiah's second game. (If you are counting, this is the fourth trip to Economy) After that, we went to Brady's Run for the graduation party and then back to Monaca for Jeremiah's night game. Can you say "Totally Exhausted"? I literally passed out when I finally got home for good. To make matters worse, the boys lost All of the games! You know how much I hate losing! But it's okay.
They each had games again on Sunday, but we opted for church instead. I am so glad I did. It was Youth Sunday today and our kids were in charge of the service. It was a great service.
I was thinking about how I used to feel that these baseball tournaments were so important. I remember one year we even came home early from vacation for Jordan to play in a game. Hindsight, I now realize these things are not really all that important. I remember years ago, I wouldn't let Jordan go to a game because we had church. Boy did those coaches give me a hard time! I remember so distinctively the one coach sarcastically told me to "pray for him" as I left to go to church. You know me, I smiled and cheerfully told him that I would indeed include him in my prayers. Well, that was probably over 10 years ago. I ran into that same coach not too long ago. He praised Cory and me up and down telling me how good of a job we did raising Jordan. Now he probably forgot all about what he said to me about choosing church over baseball, but I have never forgotten it. We haven't always made the right decisions and we have made mistakes along the way, but putting God first is never a mistake in my book. :-)
So, needless to say, I am totally over baseball and I am totally baseballed out! I was so tired today. Isaiah did have another game at 6 and I couldn't even cheer anymore. lol! Well, I better get myself together because Isaiah has another baseball tournament this upcoming weekend. Pray for me!!!
