We are getting our ducts cleaned tomorrow morning. I am positive that our ducts look like the picture on top. They are so nasty. We have to move all furniture away from the heating/cooling ducts and the cold air returns. That is going to be a job in a half because most of my rooms are wall to wall furniture. We also have to make a clear path to the furnace--ha! That will also be interesting. So that is what I will be doing for the rest of my night!

Francis is doing good at being a bachelor this week. He came over yesterday for some of my meatball sandwiches and fried potatoes. I feel bad cooking for him because my cooking doesn't even begin to compare with what he can do! But at least I know he ate.

My mom said they are doing fine in Florida. The temperature down there was supposed to be 78 degrees. Her cousins down there were excited that they could pull out their turtle necks and jackets. That is funny because if it was 78 degrees up here today, the last thing I would have on is a turtle neck!

We went to Lowes last night to pick out a floor and a countertop for our kitchen. That is a very overwhelming job. There is so much to pick from. I am kind of glad that we don't have a choice about our cabinets because that would then be way too stressful. We are debating over either using a wood laminate floor or a ceramic tile floor in our kitchen. I need some expertise on the subject--so please feel free to add your advice in the comments page as to which one we should pick. (Aunt Monica--make sure you ask your son and husband for me.)

Aunt Jessie,I think you should get a wood laminate floor because all the other floors in the house except for the bathroom and the basement. I think it would look stunning if I do say so myself. I love wood floors! They add such elegance to any room. My townhouse doesn't have wood floors, just tile, and I'm getting pretty sick of it. Grandma might be trick-or-treating with us,so she said;D

I'm sorry, my mind thinks ahead of my fingers. The sentence should be"Aunt Jessie,I think you should get a wood laminate floor because all the other floors in the house except for the bathroom and basement are made of wood.

I would go with the ceramic but I would not use a light colored grout unless you are going to use epoxy grout which I would recommend. Then you really don't have to worry about it getting gross looking especially since you guys use that door all the time. I have laminate in my laundry room and it shows every mark and it sounds fake when you walk on it.

Mary's right. Laminate does not hold up to water (ask Leo Zini). Tile with dark-colored grout is the way to go (put down cement board first).
