Random updates....

1. Isaiah decided to play football. All summer long he has said he was not playing--which was music to my and Cory's ears. The head football coach asked Cory if he would help out coaching a little bit and then Mr. Isaiah said he wanted to play. I would never ever force one of my children to play a sport they didn't want to play and I would never tell them they couldn't do something that they wanted to do. So he is now playing for the Rochester Mighty Mites team. My concern is that Isaiah only weighs 72 lbs. The weight limit is 125 lbs. There are quite a few boys who are over the limit as it is. I plan to pray very hard every day for him. :-)

2. Isaiah is attending a basektball camp this week in Cranberry. Usually the camps have a ton of kids--well over 100. This camp only has 15 kids. I don't want to complain though because the camp director is a friend of mine and he only made me pay $25 for the camp and the camp cost is $95! I was so thankful for that blessing! Anyway I can save money these days, I am on it!

3. I have a new neighbor!! Joshua moved into my old apartment a few blocks away from me. It is so nice having him in Rochester! He came over to see me last night after he worked out at the track. I've missed him since I left Beaver, so it is nice having him close again. I got to see my old apartment the other day. Lots of memories! Jeremiah and Corynne couldn't understand why they didn't get to live there. I told them that 6 people sharing one bathroom is one thing---but 6 people sharing one bedroom is out of the question~!

4. Somebody stole my American flags on my front porch. I am so mad about that. I had two small flags in my flower pots. I was very proud of how nice my front porch looked--pretty flowers and very patriotic. I woke up yesterday morning to find my flags gone. I don't know which I am more mad about--the fact that someone stole from me or the fact that someone was on my porch in the middle of the night. ahhh!

5. Our teacher contract is up in Jan. 2009. Rumor has it that negotiations are going to get nasty and a strike is possible. I do not want to strike. I can't afford to strike. I don't think anything good comes out of strike. No one wins with a strike. All that happens is I lose a paycheck! So hopefully we can settle this without striking. Beaver Falls is the second lowest paid school district in Beaver County. It is definately one of the toughest places to work also. We aren't being greedy, but we would like compensated for the job we do.

6. The wedding is so close. My poor mom is a little stressed--she has to cut and color peoples' hair, bake cookies, alter (sp) dresses, type minutes for church and some other odds and ends. Since I am not a seamstress or a hairdresser, nor am I on the church board--the only thing I am qualified to help her with is baking cookies. So that is where I will be the next two days--helping her make cookies. I am excited for the wedding and so is she. So we don't mind the work. It is all fun.

7. We went swimming all day today. It was beautiful outside! Jeremiah and Corynne swam literally for 5 hours! Early bedtime tonight!

8. Isaiah got "Player of the Day" today at basketball camp. Go Isaiah!

That stinks about your flags getting stolen. I swear people will take anything that's not nailed down. Example: The person who stole our leash at the dog park!

I secretly hope if we have kids that they don't want to play sports. It's selfish, but I don't want to spend my entire life in a gym, at a ball field ...
