Cory, Jordan, my dad and my brother made it back safely from their Port Clinton fishing charter trip on Saturday. No one got sea sick--which is a good thing because for some reason Cory thinks that is hilarious! Cory has been known to laugh hysterically when someone gets sick on a fishing boat. One year he even took pictures of Jordan getting sick. The funny thing is that Cory can't even be in the same zip code when one of his kids are throwing up, but he can laugh right next to a fisherman puking over the side of the boat! I'll never understand that one.
The guys caught 18 Walleye. That is a good thing I guess--but those 18 Walleye are sitting in a bowl in my refridgerator! (That's a bit nasty) Cory cleaned them when he got home and put them in a bowl of water. I made him clean the counter with bleach when he got done. Uncle Mike is going to fuss at me when he reads this because he knows that I was raised with fish guts on the counter often and I should be used to it--but my kitchen was spotless when Cory got home and I am really worried about germs these days! He is supposed to divide the fish up into baggies today while I'm working--so hopefully that is done when I get home. :-)

mmmmm, i love walleye~especially cajun style. it's so good cooked on the grill! i think cory should have a picnic and make fish for everyone :-)
i'm not sure about the puking thing, something smells fishy (i crack myself up)!!!....i think he might be getting one over on you jess!
steph, i have fish for you. and mind your own business about the puking thing. and aren't you supposed to be working at the time of your last post. i think a call to Tom H. is in order.
jess and cory , I want to know why puke has become a blog topic and children puking is not as gross as grown men in a fishing boat puking Cory.
At least he cleaned them! He used to try and put uncleaned fish in the freezer first!
My kids always did seem to laugh when others were in distress. We went to an Olympic ice skating competition. The place was QUIET, the girl spun around, leaped into the air, and hit the ice - my kids laughed loudly!
Grandma Marva,
Down in my deep freezer, there are a few frozen whole fish! It is quite gross.
Isaiah acts just like Cory--he's always giggling at someone. :-)
That is the "hauser" in them!!!
the fish in the freezer have been gutted. as for laughing at people in distress, Jessie has no room to talk. when someone falls Jessie laughs so hard that she can't even breath. and if you have ever seen someone get sick on the boat it is the funniest thing have ever seen. they try to act like they are not sick, while they are turning colors, and they think they are cool. and then, uuuugh!!! too funny. the funny thing is they think they are done, then uuuuugh!!! i am laughing just thinking about it right now. and Fran ranks right up there. I have to tell Uncle Mike that story some day.
Hey Cory, I think you have to tell me that story - this is the first I heard of it!!
And I agree with you: I have seen Jess laugh at people in many forms of distress. (Remind me to tell you the story about the basketball game at Thiel College.)
.....Cleaned ,FRESH , walleye have very ,very very little scent;guts and skin , however do.Have Cory clean them at Lake Erie. Port Clinton has places that will do them for him....for a modest charge (I assumed; that at this time of year thats were he went)$hundreds for a charter but a few $ to have them filleted ????? ....As for the puker boys...I have chummed Lake Erie from Ohio to New York, but that was usually after I snuck in a tankard at the wineries, those darn itty -bitty glasses just can't appease my thirst ... I , unlike those people, Cory has described ,puked with gusto and with a sense of accomplishment. How else would I keep my Karen Carpenteresque figure. ps to Cory...I'd love to hear about Fran's puker story...but unless you tell me It was on a canoe trip, I gots a better one...remind me when next we meet. It is tooooooo gross for these pages....besides I'll have to expound on it, for effect, and try to figure a way to blame it on this administration ;-)...pss -Jessie don't use bleach ...yecch....Try lemon juice!
unka mike,
i will tell you the story in person, i too have to use some effects. as for taking the fish to get cleaned, we are not in port clinton, about 25 minutes outside and there is no fish cleaning places where we are. besides if i clean them i get more fish than anyone else. catch my drift. talk to you later.
