1. If there were a word in the dictionary that meant "super exhausted"--that would describe how I feel today. I am so glad I do not have to go to work until Tuesday.
2. The viewings and funeral was very nice. But the funeral home had three other viewings at the same time. We have an extremely large family--Buppy had 7 children, six in-law-children, 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, two sisters, one sister in law and one brother. That means A LOT of people are going to show up at the viewings. The other three deceased people at the funeral home had no one in there visiting them. I thought that the funeral director should have doubled up two of those deceased people and gave us two rooms.
3. The funeral director irritated me, but Unka Mike and Uncle Mark said she is very very good at her job. They are probably right. I think I was just irritated period. It was a hard day.
4. Buppy was buried in his Pirates' hat, jeans and flannel shirt. That messed me up a little bit because it looked like he was just sleeping and he could get up at any time and start cracking jokes with us.
5. Corynne and Jeremiah asked a million questions. "Why did Buppy die?" When is Buppy going to be with Jesus? How does he get there? Why is he sleeping? Where is Heaven? How do you get to heaven?"
6. While we were at the dinner after the funeral, I had an idea that since we had the WHOLE family together, we should get some pictures. Most people thought that was a good idea, but many of my relatives fought me on that. (I won't mention any names, but Unka Mike and Uncle Chris are two of them!) So we got a cousin picture--all 17 of us, a grandchild picture--23 of us and then I wanted a picture of my dad's brothers and sisters. That is when I got some uncooperation. But I used my teacher voice and I clapped my hands--which works with 6th graders--and I got my picture. The funny thing is though that when I get these pictures developed, EVERYONE is going to WANT copies of them. Now I could be nasty and tell the uncooperatees "no", but that is not my style.
7. My dad's boss came. I will leave my comments about him to myself.
8. Buppy had a old ties that he wanted to give all of his sons, grandsons and great grandsons. So we gave them all out and all of the boys/men wore his ties to the funeral. It was so nice.
9. Corynne LOVES Unka Mike. She sat up under him half the day yesterday. She told him that he is funny and she asked him to tell her some jokes. So whatever corny jokes he could think of, he told her and Corynne laughed like I have never heard her laugh before. It was hilarious.
10. Thank you all for your cards, thoughts and prayers. We appreciate it.

Oh sure, you didn't want to mention your thoughts about your Dad's boss but.....you'll write about your Unkas Chris and Mike ;-)......and Corynne did not say I was funny, she said "I smelled funny ....like old socks with herrings in them."......Oh by the way did you find all the pretzles we stashed in her coat ?
....One more thing at the end of this message Unka Mike will not use that moniker (look it up Jess, I Know you don't know what it means ;-) )ever again on your blog. From now on, I will be either "Old Woman" or "Dennis"......just ask your Father, the reason why.
I write about my uncles because I love them Unka Mike!
No, Corynne said that you ARE funny! And you are. I am still laughing about that Buppy/Steve story you told with your hats! That was hilarious!
I forgot about those pretzles.
I will look up "moniker"
